CCATCM Admission Requirements
Admission requirements are set by the Department of Labour and Advanced Education and the Private Career Colleges Regulation Act in Nova Scotia. Students may also be eligible for student loans.
Admissions Prerequisites
A. To apply for diploma programs for career purposes, applicants must have:
a. High school diploma or GED
b. A sincere interest in acupuncture, traditional Chinese medicine, and the healing profession
B. A completed application must include:
a. A completed and signed application form
b. An official copy of your high school transcript or diploma
c. An updated copy of your resume
d. A government issued ID
c. An entrance essay:
i. Why do you want to learn acupuncture, acupressure, and TCM? Include your professional goals.
ii. How did you learn about CCATCM and the program?
iii. Why do you wish to attend CCATCM?
iv. What will you contribute to CCATCM’s learning environment?
d. Successful admissions interview
e. A cheque to CCATCM for the $100 application fee (non-refundable)
C. Upon acceptance into a program, students must submit:
a. A $500 registration fee (non-refundable, to be credited against tuition if accepted into the program)
International students
Canada has one of the highest standards of living in the world. We invite you to experience all Canada has to offer during your program. International students now complete the same application process as Canadian students, however, the international application fee is $600 (non-refundable).
International students need a valid study permit from the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) or Canada Embassy in order to studay at CCATCM. In order to apply for a study permit, you require an acceptance letter from a designated learning institution, which is a school approved by a provincial or territorial government to host international students. CCATCM is both an approved and designated learning institution (our DLI no is O250138504947). Please visit www.canada.ca for more details about a study permit.
All International students must meet English Language Proficiency requirements to be accepted into CCATCM programs. An applicant whose primary language is not English must demonstrate a command of the English language sufficient to meet the needs of classroom instruction, written assignments, and exams.
Students are responsible for fees associated with translation of their documents (if necessary).
